It's a sweat bee on Smooth Blue Aster. Sweat bees may land on you to drink a bit of your sweat; be careful not to harm them, they are great little pollinators. The male sweat bee has a short life span, but the female often builds nests under fallen logs. Perhaps leave a stack of fallen branches or logs in a sheltered place if you have space. Creating habitat keeps these cute little entertainers nearby and healthy!
