Threadleaf Bluestar, also called Arkansas Amsonia, is a popular landscape plant for its stunning, fluffly fine foilage opening in a crisp green in mid spring and fading in fall to a gorgeous yellow.

Its blooms are clusters of blue in spring that attract butterflies.

Bluestar is native to the Ouachita mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma. It will add stalks each year maturing in 2-3 years to 2-3' tall and wide for a shrub-like appearance. It is well worth the wait for it to mature.

This plant is deer resistant. Its sap can irritate skin.
